AIGA National Design Center to host “I.D. Annual Design Review” exhibition in New York: Since 1954, the I.D. Annual Design Review has recognized the best in product, furniture, graphic and environment design, from the iconic to the obscure. This year the esteemed showcase moves to a new level with the addition of a student prize and a new home for the exhibition—AIGA’s gallery on Fifth Avenue.
Design Leaders optimistic about the design economy: Design leaders expressed cautious optimism in the most recent assessment of the design economy conducted by AIGA. The Design Leaders Confidence Index for the second quarter of 2010 stands at 96.13—lower than the past three quarters, yet comparable to where the index stood before the overall economic recession.
Make plans to attend AIGA’s “Gain” conference on business and design: This October, design and business leaders from around the world will converge in New York City to examine the ways “Design (Re)Invents” our businesses, our economies and even ourselves.
